Hevajra Practice and Teaching Retreat

November 2009

Khenpo Jamyang Tenzin

The Retreat Centre was privileged to have Khenpo Jamyang Tenzin lead a Hevajra Practice and Teaching programme at the Retreat Centre in November 2009.

Khenpo Jamyang Tenzin is one of the outstanding younger generation Sakya teachers of today, an accomplished teacher of the Mantrayana and Sutrayana schools of Buddhism. Khenpo Jamyang Tenzin is Abbot of Sakya Damchoe Ling Monastery in South India. Having trained under the Most Venerable Khenpo Appey Rinpoche at Sakya College, Khenpo went on to succeed him as Principal teacher there. He also holds teaching positions at IBA, Kathmandu and in the US.

Khenpo completed a traditional three year solitary retreat in the tradition of Lam Dre under His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche. He teaches in fluent English.

Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe, the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Retreat Centre also attended the program.

This was a unique opportunity to deepen our knowledge and strengthen our practice on this profound sadhana from these very accomplished teachers. The teachings and practice were on the medium length Hevajra sadhana composed by Ngawang Legpa.
